Step 1 : In the beginning, there was…

Babelsound is building a complete and comprehensive music resource website, step by step. This is step 1.

Step 1 aims to lay the groundwork of Babelsound.

Primary dataset is focused on artists. For each artist, BS provides :

  • Biographies
  • Discographies
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • No Similar artists

Nothing to jump and down about ? Yep, you’re right. But wait : this is only (the beginning) of step 1.

Thingies we aggregate for this first release :

  • Musicbrainz (artists dataset ; discographies)
  • Wikipedia and LastFM (biographies)
  • LastFM (photos)
  • Youtube (videos)

Step 1 is still in progress. In the next weeks, we will add a lot of new medias and contents. We’ll let you know about the additions on this blog.

But BS is not only about aggregation. So stay tuned for step 2, which should become a bit more spicy.
